Introduction

- Exempt Technologies built the Exempt app as a free/commercial app. This SERVICE is provided by Exempt Technologies, Inc. at no cost and is intended for use as is.

- If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to these Terms and Conditions. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service.

- Any changes to these Terms and Conditions will become effective upon the posting of a revised Terms and Conditions on the App.


INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE

- For a better experience while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, i.e., address, location, passport number, email address etc. The information submitted will allow you to take advantage of Change Notifications of Customs Policies and expedite Customs Clearance in any of the locations Exempt services are offered.

- Data collected in reference to the process of a Customs Declaration will be owned, managed and secured by the Government of the country’s Customs Department and Finance Ministry, in which the Declaration is made to.

- Exempt and its third party service providers may collect non-personal information and aggregate that information in such a way that you are not personally identifiable. We may also use cookies, pixel tags, web beacons, and other similar technologies to better serve you while using the App.


LOG DATA

We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in case of an error in the app, we collect data and information (through third party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.

- Data collected in reference to the process of a Customs Declaration will be shared to the Government of the country’s Customs Department and Finance Ministry, in which the Declaration is made to.

- Exempt and its third party service providers may collect non-personal information and aggregate that information in such a way that you are not personally identifiable. We may also use cookies, pixel tags, web beacons, and other similar technologies to better serve you while using the App.


MOBILE DEVICE IDENTIFIERS AND IP ADDRESSES

IP addresses, server log files and related information are considered non personal identifiers. We do not collect or use Mobile Device Identifiers assigned by wireless service providers or device manufacturers.


COOKIES

- Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory.

- This Service does not use these “cookies” explicitly. However, the app may use third party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services. When accepting the Terms and Conditions, you are consenting to the use of cookies while using the App.


DISCLOSURE OF PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION

Disclosure:

  • To our third party service providers, who provide services such as Customs Processes, internet service providers, IT services, customer service, and Credit Card Processing.
  • To a third party in the event of any merger, sale or joint venture.
  • To comply with legal processes as we believe to be appropriate, to respond to requests from government authorities inside and outside your country of residence.
  • To comply as we believe to be appropriate, under applicable law including laws outside your country of residence.
  • To enforce our terms and conditions.
  • To protect our operations or those of any of our affiliates.

Bahamas Customs & Bahamas Ministry of Finance

To fulfill a request for expedited service for Bahamas Customs, Exempt will facilitate the transmission of relevant Personal Information at your specific direction to The Bahamas Customs Department via secure, encrypted processes. Exempt Technologies is NOT responsible for the use of such information by the Bahamas Government, including Bahamas Customs and The Bahamas Ministry of Finance, and is NOT responsible for any actions the Bahamas Government may or may not take based on that information.


Security

We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. We use reasonable organizational, technical and administrative measures to protect Personal Information under our control. Unfortunately, no data transmission via the internet or electronic storage system, can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.


Opt-In

During the use of this Service, you are asked to explicitly opt-in to the sharing of your Personal Information to third parties, such as Bahamas Customs and The Bahamas Ministry of Finance. We will not share such information without being provided with specific consent.


Data Retention

We will retain your personal information and any information submitted during the use of the App. All forms not submitted to our third party Governmental Affiliates can be deleted by you or will be deleted once a request to cancel your account has been received.

All information submitted to any third party Government Affiliate such as the Bahamas Customs Department is the property of that organization. Exempt Technologies cannot delete, remove or review that information.

Exempt Technologies cannot or will not make requests to that organization for any submitted information on your behalf once the account has been canceled.


Children’s Privacy

The Services of this App does not address anyone under the age of 13 years old, and we request that such individuals under the age of 13 be enrolled by their legal guardians. Legal guardians may enroll travel documents on behalf of their children on their own mobile devices.


Third Party App

These Terms and Conditions do not address, and we are not responsible for, the privacy, information or other practices of any third parties, including without limitation, any of our affiliates and any third party operating any site to which this site contains a link. The inclusion of a link on this site does not imply endorsement of the linked site by us or by our affiliates.


Links to Other Sites

This Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Terms and Conditions of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, Terms and Conditions, or practices of any third-party sites or services.


Changes to Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right to change our Terms and Conditions at any time. When we change our Terms and Conditions in a material manner, we will attempt to notify you through in-app notifications (if your settings permit notifications) or by alerting you to the updated Terms and Conditions the next time you launch the App. Any changes to our Terms and Conditions will become effective on the effective date listed on the Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to such changes, you can close your account and request that your information be deleted.
